After the Fourth of July festivities, we all tend to take a short break, catch our breath and prepare for the rest of summer. If our business depends on customers, however, we don’t want THEM taking a break away from spending their money!
Years ago, one of my favorite excursions was to an area that sponsored a “Christmas in July” event in several stores. They actually decorated for the holidays, offered Christmas cookies, sported red and green and customers flocked in for the air conditioning, the holiday spirit and the great sales. It was a burst of energy that sparked increased revenue, customer goodwill and even after decades have passed, I can still tell you where the event was held and how to get there.
Do something different. Think outside the box. Come to the next Huntersville Connection meeting prepared to not just give an elevator speech but to go beyond the norm in bringing businesses and community together.
