One of my favorite events of the year occurs this Friday night — the Charlotte Symphony will play at McGuire, starting at 8:15. I know that the Symphony just played at Bailey Park, but I have to say that the McGuire location provides a completely different experience. People arrive on the lawn with their picnic set-ups and they arrive by boat. And all have the vista of the sun slowly setting over the water with the music lulling the crowd to a peaceful atmosphere. Ahhh…..
Whether your business is batteries or bagels, you can use the symphony as an added push to increase your business. Case in point: I will be bringing my battery powered fan in my picnic basket, and will certainly make the bagel sandwiches that my husband loves. I may need additional picnic supplies, and may very well need to be reminded about what could make my symphonic experience a more pleasant one. So this citizen is merely suggesting to area businesses to start telling me what I need — advertise, put the Symphony flyer in your window, a special sign in your store, a magnet on your vehicle — and draw me in!
Hoteliers: You, too, can provide an incredible opportunity to your Friday night guests. Who wants to spend a night alone in a hotel when you can provide them with the chance to attend the symphony? Have chairs available, direct them to a local establishment to pick up a dinner or snack, have a map to McGuire ready and “share the wealth” of the region. A memorable visit to our area, and the customer service you offer will draw the visitor back someday!
And this weekend is not only about the Symphony: Taste of Birkdale is also happening on Saturday! The Davidson and Huntersville Farmer’s Markets are active Saturday mornings. Our area parks are teeming with activity and the lake is filling up fast.
Where is your opportunity?
